Just when you thought Imperial Stock Ranch yarn couldn’t get any more beautiful and soft, enter Desert Exotic, a luxurious blend of 60% wool and 40% North American alpaca. Our hats are off to the alpaca, whose fibers are comparable to cashmere in terms of softness, and even surpass cashmere in strength and wear resistance. Offering more drape than our 100% wool yarns, Imperial Stock Ranch’s wool/alpaca yarn is ideal for sweaters, scarves, shawls, ponchos, gloves, hats and home décor projects. And how’s this for versatility: the wool/alpaca is the same gauge as our Columbia 2-Ply, so it can be used in any of our 2-ply patterns, although the fabric will drape slightly differently.
