Rambouillet Columbia Sheep & Alpaca Wool Accessories, Home Goods, Gifts, Fabrics, Coned & Craft yarns…
All Imperial Yarn natural fibers are sourced ethically in the USA. We raise huacaya alpacas, rambouillet sheep and angora goats. We purchase fiber from other Climate Beneficial Verified Ranches to produce beautifully blended yarns to use in our Imperial Collection of yarn, home goods, garments and accessories.
Each year, we harvest fiber from sheep and alpacas, transforming this naturally renewable resource into a diverse collection of yarns and blends. Annual shearing is essential to the health and well-being of the animals—it helps prevent overheating, supports mobility, and reduces the risk of parasites and skin conditions. This practice reflects a broader commitment to responsible stewardship, where animal care and fiber production work in harmony.
We process our wool with intention, milling it without harsh chemicals or extreme temperatures to preserve its natural integrity. The result is a fiber that remains soft, breathable, and comfortable next to the skin.
Through thoughtfully developed colorways—ranging from rich solids to nuanced heathers—Imperial Yarn offers knitters, weavers, and fiber artists a refined palette of hues, textures, and weights, all rooted in natural fiber performance.
We source our wool and alpaca from ranches that prioritize responsible land management and high standards of animal husbandry. Our work includes Climate Beneficial™ Verified fibers as well as fibers certified under the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), ensuring that every step—from land to finished yarn—supports environmental health, animal welfare, and long-term sustainability.
