    This fabric is so versitle.  The construction is compeling and honestly pretty special.  100% Wool Warp Climate Beneficial Verified.  The fill yarn is 70% Climate Beneficial Verified cotton and 30% domestic hemp.  We took this fabric in the loom state, frame washed it and napped both sides.  It feels like a light weight napped blanket.  Ideas for this fabric, an over shirt, it would be warm and have all the benefits of hemp.  I have made kitchen towels, placemats and napkins with this fabric.  There are so many creative options.  Add some natural dye or eco-print for a stylish finish.  The finished fabric measures 58″ x 36″.

    Joshua II – DK Weight Rambouillet Wool + Hemp

    Joshua II is a 3 ply DK that is a blend of 80% Rambouillet wool and 20% hemp.  Part of the fun in blending a protein fiber with a cellulose fiber is dyeing the yarn.  Protein and cellulose fibers take dyes at different heats, so you always end up with some dimension to the dye and also what appears to be heathering.

    We have paired hemp with other fibers through the years, cotton, alpaca, merino; this is the first time we have paired merino wool and hemp.  The wool allows this yarn to breath and the hemp gives the yarn a  fun texture.  When you knit with this yarn you get a wonderful stitch definition, which makes Joshua II a great cable knitting yarn.
