Great prices on natural fiber home goods and clothing. All of our fiber, merino wool, alpaca and cotton grown in the USA and manufactured in the USA. Fiber is grown utilizing the verification of Climate Beneficial practices implemented by The Fibershed and the Carbon Cycle institute.
Fiber is harvested one time per year:
The merino wool is sent to South Carolina for scouring/washing. Once the merino wool is washed it is made into top. The top is sent to North Carolina or Pennsylvania for spinning.
The alpaca is sent to Canada for washing. (There is not a commercial washing facility in the USA that washed alpaca). Once the alpaca is washed it is returned to the US. Once back in the US it is sent onto Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, North Carolina or Wisconsin to be spun into yarn.
The cotton is harvested and sent to the cotton gin before heading to North Carolina. When the cotton is ginned, it is separated from the seeds and bulb. What is left is the lint that sent to the East Coast, specifically North Carolina to be spun into yarn.
Once the yarn is spun it is sent on to weaving or knitting or dyeing. There are a lot of stops on the way to becoming a finished natural fiber product. We are proud that we can make our products in the USA.
Making natural fiber products is a long journey from ranch to shelf. Sometimes it takes a from the time of shearing to the shipment of finished product.
